Minocqua Chamber Rebrands Its Marketing Strategy – WXPR

Whether as a potential visitor or a local resident, you’ll be hearing a lot more about “Let’s Minocqua” in the future. That’s because the Minocqua Area Chamber of Commerce is taking a new approach in marketing its communities of Minocqua, Woodruff and Arbor Vitae.

The old brand was “Nature’s Original Water Park.”

The new name was announced at Monday’s press conference at the Let’s Minocqua Welcome Center. Board member John Eppes explains why the change was needed:

“We’re a dynamic organization. We’re responsible for bringing people to this area. We need to keep our brand alive. We need to kept it relevant and evolving because our market is constantly evolving.”

Executive Director Krystal Westfahl says the rebranding was an eighth-month undertaking, including many one-on-one interviews with visitors and local residents. The new name reflects a changing marketing strategy, she says.

“Organizations such as ours are moving away from adopting those sort of conventional names like chamber of commerce and using more of a logo version of themselves, and then identifying themselves through that logo.”

“Let’s Minocqua” will be used extensively throughout the marketing of the three communities, including digital platforms and even apparel available at the Welcome Center in Minocqua.
