** We’re talking about practice … Ohio State’s maddening fall from the upper echelon of college basketball continued with Saturday’s 66-54 loss at Indiana. It was a rough game for the OSU backcourt. Duane Washington Jr. was benched for apparently missing a defensive assignment, D.J. Carton had seven turnovers, C.J. Walker was 3 of 11 from the floor and Luther Muhammad was 1 for 6.
Kaleb and Andre Wesson each represented reasonably well for the Buckeyes. Each soft spoken with the media, they aired some of their frustrations after the loss. They found a common theme.
“It starts in practice,” Kaleb Wesson said. “You’ve got to make these plays in practice, so they translate to the game. You can’t go out in practice and not box out and not play physical and turn the ball over and then come out here and expect things are going to change.”
Andre Wesson added, “Our practice habits have to get better. Once they get better, we can turn this thing around. It’s all about practice.”
The good news is Nebraska brings its hodgepodge roster to Value City Arena Tuesday night. Of course, the Huskers have two Big Ten wins to OSU’s one but who’s counting?
** What up, Holmes? … There had been speculation in regards to UCLA cornerback Darnay Holmes transferring. And some of the speculation included Ohio State being a possible destination.
* Was it on point? Rounders redux? Dabo’s Buckeye dance?
