Atlanta Hawks star Trae Yong is on an unbelievable tear this season, cementing himself as one of the most talented and promising young prospects in the league.
Coming out of college, there were many who doubted his potential as an NBA point guard. When he was drafted and then traded to Atlanta, a lot of pundits suggested he would never live up to all the hype.
For those doubters and nay-sayers, Young delivered a special message, responding that he was using their talk as fuel.
YOUR APOLOGY NEEDS TO BE AS LOUD AS THE DISRESPECT WAS… pic.twitter.com/EQszirVp1X

Trae Young on the “disrespect” he feels/tweeted about after the win in Denver:
“It’s not a shot toward anybody, but it’s just some people that didn’t think I’d be able to do what I’ve been doing. It’s just motivation. Everybody has a certain type of motivation that fuels them.”

In the 10 games he has played in this season, Young is putting up MVP-type numbers. He’s averaging 27.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 9.1 assists on 45.7 percent shooting, and 38.6 percent from beyond the arc.
Better yet, the Hawks are overachieving this season, being only 3 games below .500 and tied for 9th in the Eastern Conference.
No doubt, Young will only continue to prove the doubters wrong in the weeks and months to come.
