We all need time to take care of ourselves.
When you live in a chaotic world, it’s important to practice self-care. It’s reserving an hour or two to focus on your own needs and relax. It’s easy to get stressed out, and being under a lot of pressure can put strain on your body and your mind.
Self-care means different things to different people, and the zodiac sign you were born under can influence what happens when you take the time to do something for your mind, body, and soul. Thanks to astrology, each sign is unique in their approach to healing.
For some signs, self-care may mean getting a mani/pedi; for others, it could mean going to the gym. There aren’t any rules to self-care except that it shouldn’t hurt you or someone else in a damaging way. Drinking so much you can’t stand up isn’t self-care, but having a glass of wine by the fire might be.
Each zodiac sign has a part of the body that is more significant to them. It could be where they seem to have pain, or it could be a point of pleasure. If you focus on that part, being careful to treat it with love, the results will be significant. It’s up to you to decide what kind of self-care is best for you, and there really isn’t any downside to it.
ARIES (March 21 – April 19)
For self-care, Aries indulge in some pampering. They get a mani/pedi, a haircut, a facial, or even a massage. Anything that makes them slow down a moment and put themselves into someone else’s capable hands.
When they’re done, they not only look fabulous, they feel calmer, more centered, and ready to hit the ground running again.
TAURUS (April 20 – May 20)
When Taurus is practicing self-care, it usually involves chocolate; if that’s not their thing, any other kind of sweet or savory treat will do. It doesn’t take a lot once they decide to take a moment to relax.
A square of excellent chocolate or dessert, a comfy chair, a scented candle (for a little aromatherapy) and soft music are all they need to chill and regroup energetically.
GEMINI (May 21 – June 20)
When Gemini is practicing self-care, they get physical. A vibrant and energetic African or Brazilian dance class can get them out of their heads and focus on the rhythm of the music.
After they’ve worked up a good sweat, a scented bath or shower will make them feel as if they rule the world and can do anything they want.
CANCER (June 21 – July 22)
When Cancer practices self-care, it may be as simple as going outside and taking pictures, or curling up in a comfy armchair and listening to music. When they flex their creative muscles, it helps to center them and makes them feel happy and content.
Nature and music are two of Cancer’s favorite things and have surprising healing qualities.
LEO (July 23 – August 22)
One of the ways Leo practices self-care is by talking to themselves. They make themselves laugh, discuss problems they’re trying to solve, and compliment themselves. Being kind and compassionate with themselves helps to reinforce their self-esteem and confidence.
It makes them not only feel good but feel good about themselves. Talking to yourself the way you would a trusted friend is a great way to help eliminate negative self-talk and focus on the positive things instead.
VIRGO (August 23 – September 22)
For Virgo, getting rid of clutter not only clears their house, but clears their head as well. There’s something about paring down and getting rid of excess stuff that does a Virgo good.
Once everything is in order, they may change the sheets on their bed. It’s such a simple and ordinary thing, but clean sheets that smell good can give you a more restful sleep and help you relax during the day.
LIBRA (September 23 – October 22)
For self-care, Libra makes an effort to drink a ton of water. They carry a water bottle with them at all times, and throughout the day and night they’re drinking water, especially in hot weather.
Libras know that while drinking water is simple, the importance of drinking enough every day can’t be underestimated. When Libra doesn’t drink enough water, they can tell because they feel sluggish and as if their body isn’t working to capacity.
SCORPIO (October 23 – November 21)
For self-care, Scorpio will have a deep conversation with a trusted friend or loved one. There aren’t many people Scorpios trust implicitly, but they usually have one or two of these people in their lives.
It’s hard for them to open up, but it’s important for their own mental and physical health to do so. Any kind of talk therapy is good for Scorpio, so if they feel more comfortable talking with a mental health professional, that’s good too.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 – December 21)
Sagittarius will arrange a quick solo trip somewhere because, for them, travel itself is something they enjoy and it invigorates them enough to relax. They might go to a beach nearby or fly to somewhere they’ve always wanted to go to and explore. A new location means a new mindset for Sagittarius.
CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 19)
For Capricorn, self-care means positive affirmations. They may make up their own affirmations or use an app. They are good at creating good habits, so if they decide they’re going to repeat their positive affirmations 10 times a day, they’;; repeat them every day for a set time.
Positive affirmations help keep Capricorn on track and focused on what they want in the world without causing any extra stress.
AQUARIUS (January 20 – February 18)
For Aquarius, self-care involves a group. They may go to a 12-step meeting, a group exercise class, or a meet-up in a subject they’re interested in learning about or doing more often.
They can get stuck in their heads sometimes, so it’s good to be around people and not feel like they have to solve all the world’s problems themselves.
PISCES (February 19 – March 20)
For Pisces, self-care is all about the hands and feet. They tend to get foot and hand massages, mani/pedis, or soak them in sea salt and essential oils.
Some people may always need to be on point with their outfit and others might not feel good if their hair is too messy, but for Pisces, they are very aware when their feet and hands aren’t feeling or looking their best. And they love when their feet and hands get the attention they deserve.
