Social media is considered by digital marketers and entrepreneurs the most, but is it worthy to use? Social Media Examiner released a report this year in which they try to find answer of how marketers are using social media to grow and promote their brand.

According to 2019 Social Media Marketing Industry Report, which was made by surveying 4800 marketers, social media marketing results in exposure increased from 87 percent to 93 percent, and traffic improved from 78 to 87 percent. Moreover, the current channel of marketing improved generated leads from 64 to 74 percent, and sales from 53 to 72 percent.

Regarding commonly used social media channel, the report says that Facebook, used by both B2B and B2C marketers the most, and Instagram are main platforms for marketing. According to the report, Instagram, whose worth has increased from 66 to 73 percent, is the second most used social media platform by B2C marketers. However, B2B marketers use LinkedIn the most after Facebook at 80 percent.

In terms of video channels, the survey says that YouTube is preferred by all content marketers. Report further found out that after YouTube, B2C marketers prefer to use Instagram stories and Facebook videos while B2B marketers use LinkedIn.

Furthermore, 2019’s survey has found out information about advertisement as well. According to the survey, Facebook is used by B2C marketers the most and LinkedIn ads are viewed by B2B marketers more than Facebook advertisements. Hence, according to the report, Facebook is way ahead than all social networks.

However, the answer of question of overall return-on-investment (ROI) is not so favorable, as only 44 percent marketers were able to measure the ROI of their organic social activities. Therefore, social media marketing is still a big challenge for many marketers.
