Self Help

Watch Good Charlotte's Intense, Inspiring 'Self Help' Video

Written by admin

Good Charlotte released an intense music video to accompany new single “Self Help.” The track is off the band’s latest album, Generation Rx.

The video’s visuals move quickly between shots of Good Charlotte performing and a boxer training. We see the boxer work to remain focused and get in shape for a match, which is seen at the end of the video. His training montage reflects the song’s lyrics of self-doubt and the constant effort needed to work on bettering yourself.

Generation Rx is Good Charlotte’s seventh album. In a statement announcing the LP’s release last summer, the band revealed that they were inspired by the tragic loss of Lil Peep, who had been a huge fan of the emo-punk band. The album tackles the opioid addiction and nationwide crisis. The album was also a return to their roots.

“Good Charlotte was at our best when we were unconscious and naive kids, who didn’t know it wasn’t cool to try hard or make new friends,” they told Rolling Stone at that time. “Generation Rx feels to us like we finally found our way back to that place.”

The group is currently touring across North America in support of the album.
