A website and Facebook page aren’t enough to reach online audiences. Along with traditional marketing tactics, businesses must prioritize their digital strategy to meet customer demand for seamless online experiences, or they’ll fall behind. They need a leader who can guide the digital growth of their business.
“Digital marketing isn’t just posting on social media or updating a website. It’s a strategic focus that includes all online marketing efforts,” Mid-America Christian University Marketing Director Cheryl Engelaer said.
A full digital marketing strategy to generate lead growth can include social media, content marketing, email marketing, search engine optimization (SEO), analytics, reporting, native advertising and much more.
Mid-America Christian University (MACU) is premiering the first complete digital marketing degree program in Oklahoma. While other universities offer courses related to digital marketing, MACU’s degree offers an all-encompassing approach. The bachelor’s degree program is available to students nationwide online.
Engelaer, who helped design the program, has been a force in the industry since the early 2000s. Before her position at MACU, she led digital lead strategy for Microsoft in Seattle.
“The courses in this degree program reflect my experiences working in digital,” Engelaer said.
The program’s curriculum covers everything from marketing tactics to analytics. Digital marketing channels, such as Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and LinkedIn, are closely studied. Best practices for SEO are discussed along with other digital tactics. Whether you’re naturally inclined to enjoy the creative or technical aspects of marketing, the program explores both sides to make students well-rounded strategists, marketers and content creators.
Like other MACU programs, the digital marketing degree program is a great fit for both full-time and part-time students. The flexible online courses are easy to balance with work and family schedules.
