Retailers are sometimes only as successful as their social media channels – not always, but a store’s social media can mean the difference between bigger profits. In the August issue of Gifts and Decorative Accessories, Becky Tyre shared some important tips on how retailers can use social media as a marketing tool to share their key display areas.
“You only have a couple of seconds to grab the attention of potential customers who drive by or walk past your business, and your storefront should entice them to come inside,” Tyre said. “If you arrive each morning through a side or back door, step out front each day to ensure that the storefront is clean, tidy and welcoming.”
Tyre pointed out that some of the successful retailers that she’s come across in the past year – in trips to 14 states and countess retailers to say the least – appeal to consumers though senses of touch, a vintage feel and more that are easily posted on social media for likes and potential store visits.
